Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Toolmaker with a strong background in metal stamping to join our manufacturing team. The Toolmaker will be responsible for creating, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the production process. This role requires excellent blueprint reading, machining, and problem-solving skills to ensure the accurate fabrication of components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to plan tooling construction or repairs.

  • Set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machines including mills, lathes, grinders, and surface finishers to fabricate precision die components.

  • Assemble, fit, and test tools and dies to ensure proper function and fit.

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on stamping tools and dies to minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool performance and resolve stamping issues.

  • Modify existing tools and fixtures to accommodate changes in design or production processes.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of tool builds, repairs, and modifications.

  • Ensure all work complies with company safety, quality, and production standards.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an apprenticeship or technical training in a Tool and Die program or equivalent work experience in toolmaking for metal stamping.

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience working with compound blanks, semi-blanks, progressive dies, secondary tooling, fixtures and gages.

  • Proficient in the use of toolroom equipment, including grinders, mills, lathes, and CNC machining & turning centers.

  • Strong understanding of die clearances, press setup, and material flow in stamping operations.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, die designs, and GD&T specifications.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with high-strength steels and their impact on die wear and performance.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with in-die sensors and die protection systems.

  • Experience with Haas CNC machining & turning centers a plus

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Punch Press Setup Operator

Job Summary:

As a Punch Press Setup Operator, you will play a key role in our precision stamping operations. You’ll be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining punch press machines to produce high-quality metal stampings. This position directly impacts product quality, throughput, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret job orders, blueprints, and work instructions to determine required press setup (tooling, dies, blanks, fixtures).

  • Install and secure tooling, dies, punches, and associated equipment on the press.

  • Perform logic checks, trial runs, and adjustments (strip layout, feed, alignment, clearances) to ensure the press produces parts within tolerances.

  • Monitor press performance (speed, stroke, load, scrap rate) during production runs.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs to tooling, fixtures, and press components to keep them in good working condition.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues such as misfeeds, tool wear, burrs, jams, or defects.

  • Collaborate with quality/inspection team to verify first articles, perform in-process inspection, and maintain SPC or other statistical process control records.

  • Maintain accurate setup logs, tool change records, time studies, and production reports.

  • Ensure all safety, housekeeping, and lockout/tagout procedures are followed.

  • Work with engineering or tool room staff to suggest and implement tooling improvements, cost reductions, or setup efficiency improvements.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience setting up and running punch presses (preferably in thin metal stamping or precision stamping).

  • Ability to work with press tonnages in the 5 to 100 ton range.

  • Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting ability.

  • Ability to interpret mechanical prints, GD&T, schematics, and tooling drawings.

  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), first article inspection, and quality systems.

  • Basic measuring skills (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gage blocks).

  • Strong attention to detail, process discipline, and commitment to quality.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work on a team.

  • Ability to lift and handle tooling, parts, and die components (up to a safe working limit).

  • Willingness to work 4 x 10-hour days per schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and move throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.

Diaphragm Inspector

Work Schedule: 6:00am – 4:30pm M-Th

Job Purpose:

This is a Temporary Full-Time role responsible for visually sorting and separating diaphragms based on established quality criteria. Ensures only conforming parts are accepted for further processing or shipment.

Key Position Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspect diaphragms for defectssuch as scratches, tears, contamination, or deformation.

  • Sort conforming and nonconforming parts into designated containers.

  • Follow work instructions and quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Communicate issues or trends to the supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Previous inspection or sorting experience is a plus, but not required.

Other:

  • Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) for detailed inspections

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
